Obama’s trip to Cuba, and ESPN’s celebration thereof, is a disgrace

Finally. A little integrity from a sports journalist calling out his network.

I really can’t add much to this article and video from ESPN sports journalist Dan Le Batard.  What President Obama is doing in Cuba, along with the multitude of companies slavering to get a piece of the action – including the notoriously political ESPN – is revolting.  But Le Batard says it infinitely better than me.

“The ocean between our countries is filled with the Cuban bodies that tell the story, lives literally thrown to the wind in desperation, hoping to reach America's possibility-soaked shores on boats made of old tires and wood and poverty's debris. No free press. No elections. No freedom. That's the Cuba that still surrounds the baseball diamond where we play this game. That's the Cuba people still get on makeshift boats to flee today.”
