Randstad:  Base pay expected to increase 3% in US

In-demand jobs trending up to three times higher.

Staffing and HR services provider Randstad US recently released its annual salary guides, which reveal that while most 2016 pay raises will average around 3%, certain engineering, information technology, manufacturing and logistics, and office and administration jobs can expect compensation increases of 6 to 9%.

The following jobs in engineering, information technology, manufacturing and logistics, and office and administration showed the highest year-over-year national median salary increases:

  • Engineering: electronics/computer engineer (8.31%); mechanical engineer (7.38%); quality engineer (7.36%)
  • Information technology: network engineer (7.21%); software engineer (5.48%); project manager (3.87%)
  • Manufacturing and logistics: electromechanical technician (9.29%); assistant plant manager (8.05%); maintenance manager (6.65%)
  • Office and administration: office manager (6.68%); call center representative – general calls (4.55%); accounts receivable supervisor (4.50%)

The salary guides also highlighted today's most in-demand jobs, which include:

  • Finance and accounting: senior accountant; cost accountant; finance (financial planning and analysis) manager
  • Healthcare: allied health; travel nursing; physicians
  • Human resources: human resources generalist; human resources business partner; learning and development manager
  • Life sciences: drug safety associate; clinical study manager; regulatory affairs CMC manager
