At last, the flying car.

We don’t know about you, but this is something we’ve been waiting for for a long, long time.

The flying car.

Woburn, MA manufacturer Terrafugia is nearing its launch of its Transition, a flying car that can fly at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour and altitudes of up to 10,000 feet.  Due to launch (so to speak) in mid-2016, it comes at a price tag of $279,000 – pretty reasonable when you really think about it.

According to a recent article in the Boston Business Journal, the company also has another version in the conceptual phase that will take-off vertically (!) and fly at up to 200 miles per hour.

" Sign us up."

The Transition, now in its third and final prototype, requires a driver to have a sport pilot certificate, meaning about total 20 hours of training. Already, 100 customers have pre-ordered the vehicles, which have a total price tag of $279,000. That's almost $30 million in pre-orders.

All we can say is, faster please!  Here’s a video of how it works.  Sign us up.
